Always hire a REALTOR - I know that there are lots of resources available to help people find a new home, or sell their homes, but something as important as your home shouldn’t be left to chance. Always hire a professional - someone to make sure that your transaction is handled the best that it can possibly be. Hire me, Barb Asbury. I've been a resident of this area since 1978 and in this business for nearly 20 years. I know the market, and can help you every step of the way.

What year did you become a real estate agent?

(17 Years)
What is the average home price in your market?
In this market it changes frequently, and there are many different facets to our 'market' that make
Are there any new developments or trends in your area?
Yes! In years past we have been designated a 'bedroom community' and we are now a strong, vibrant community that allows for sustained growth on its own. We have many new areas of single family growth along with a lot of new commercial. It's a great time to be in Woodland Park!
Why do you enjoy being a real estate agent?
I love helping people with this part of their lives. It's very rewarding to me when I am able to be a part of a family's new home.
What is the most challenging issue you face as a Real Estate Professional?
Of course the answer should be this market that we are faced with, but I think one of the most challenging issues is that so much information is so readily available to consumers but is not always accurate. Consumers are mis-led regularly, and my challenge is to try and give them the correct information to enable them to make an educated decision.
Tell us one of your client success stories or an interesting moment in your profession.
I have many great success stories, but I guess my favorites will always be helping struggling single parent families put their kids in a great new house - I love that part!
What is your best characteristic?
You should be able to expect that I know my business and keep up with things like issues and laws, so that's not really anything but a 'given'. I think, other than that, my best characteristic would be that I am really good at relating to clients and can help them find the perfect property.
Who or what inspires you the most?
I have many great mentors in this business, but I think my kids inspire me the most. They didn't always have it easy - especially when I was a new real estate agent! - but they always came out on top, and always made me proud.
What is the best advice you ever received?
I've received advice throughout my entire life, and it's mostly been good, but I will never forget the advice given to me, years ago, that advised me: "Never take advice from anyone more messed up than you are."
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Right here.... (of course if they could move the beach a little closer it would be OK with me!)
